Typically, the team will request we add page numbers to the IAPs. This section will go over how to add page numbers to a PDF.
Edit PDF Tool #
- Open PDF you’d like to add page numbers to. Ensure that any pages that need to be rotated are rotated BEFORE you had page numbers, or else the page numbers won’t be at the bottom of the page. Click “Edit PDF” from the tool list. For instructions on how to rotate pages, see the “Rotate Pages” section of Organize Pages Tool.
Header & Footer #
- Click “Head & Footer” from the toolbar.
- Click “Add”.

- Click the box for “Center Footer Text” (or the corresponding box for wherever you’d like the page numbers to show up).
- Click “Insert Page Number”.
- Use the arrow keys on the bottom margin to raise and lower the page number.
- Click through each page to ensure the page number is in a good spot and not overlapping with any graphic/text on the page.
- Click “Page Number and Date Format” to change which page the page numbers start and other formatting preferences (picture of dialogue box on next page).
- Click “OK.”
Change Start Page Number #

- On the “Page Number and Date Format” dialogue box, choose which page in the document you’d like the page numbers to start on.
- Click “OK”.
