How to Roll Maps/Plotted Documents

This section will go over how to roll maps or any plotted document.

• Make sure you are rolling the map so that the title is visible when rolled. 
• Always roll the map/plotted document by the shortest side, unless otherwise specified. 
• Stand holding the map/plotted document up by the corners. 
• Flick your wrists and roll the edge of the map/plotted document under to start the roll. 
• Let go with one hand and use your other hand to grab the map/plotted document to keep it from unrolling. 
• Be careful not to hold on too tight to avoid creasing or bending the map/plotted document. 
• Use both hands to roll the document up, making sure to gently push the sides in if tunnelling occurs. 
• Roll as tightly as possible. 

• Rubber band the map/plotted document and label it with a sticky note accordingly (pictured to left).
