All order must be tallied on the paper Daily Log sheet immediately upon completion. This is how we keep track of all orders completed that day for our Daily Invoices. This section goes over how to tally orders on the Daily Log sheet.
Daily Log Sheet #
*Here’s an example of what a real paper Daily Log might look like.*
- Each order completed needs to be tallied on the paper Daily Log sheet.
- Remember to tally each page printed, not each item. For example, if you’re printing a quantity of 5, 10-page double-sided documents, you would tally 100 pages.
How to Tally Orders #
- Indicate which department they are from.
- Give a brief job description.
- Find the section that matches the size of the document printed.
- Within that section, mark down the number of pages printed in the column that pertains to it. For example, if you printed 10, 8.5 x 11, B&W copies, you would put “10” under the “B&W” column in the 8.5 x 11 section.
- If those 10, 8.5 x 11, B&W copies were also on color paper, put a “10” in the “Color Paper” column as well as the “B&W” column.
- If those 10, 8.5 x 11, B&W copies on color paper were also laminated, you would then put a “10” in the “Laminate” column as well.
- If you are tallying a cardstock order, put the number of pages printed under the “Cardstock” column. Do not put additional numbers in “B&W” or “Color”.
- If you laminated the cardstock, then put the number of pages printed under both the “Cardstock” column and the “Laminate” column.
- For plots, indicate the number of pages printed as well as the size (Arch C, D, or E).
- In the “Linear Feet” column, indicate the number of total linear feet printed. For example, for an E size plot, the total size is 36in x 48in. The longest side in linear feet is 4ft (calculated by dividing 48in by 12). If only one E size plot is printed, you would write “4” in the “Linear Feet” column. If 2 E size plots were printed, you would multiply 4 x 2 = 8 and write “8” in the “Linear Feet” column.
- Use the “Code” column to indicate if a plot has been laminated on one side or both sides, or if the plot is printed on Tyvek. In this example, this E size plot has been laminated on both sides.

- To calculate the number of pages to charge for a booklet, open the document, and navigate to the print dialogue. Select “Booklet” in the “Page Sizing & Handling” section and note the indicated number of pages beneath the preview (shown on left). This is the number you will tally.
